Know thyself
It takes many forms, but the advice always boils down to the same thing. One of the hardest things in life is to learn who you really are. But what if, as it turns out, you don't like that person? What if that person is weak, or foolish, or otherwise lacking? What if that person can't change?
Ignorance is bliss.
