10 reasons I'm glad Obama won

1. black people will stop whinning for about 10 minutes about how whitey keeps them oppressed. Then they will march on Washington DC to demand their 40 acres & a mule.

2. Sarah Palin won't have to wait for John McCain to die. She can start running for president now. BTW pick that nice Mike hucklebee for your VP. He's a winner.

3. No Clinton Third Term!!!!!!!! Even tho Obama is filling Clintonites into lots of high level positions. Some change! Retro change if you ask me.

4. Russia & France have hot, young presidents & now we have one too.

5. Chicago is now considered a center of power in the US.

Sorry I can't think of the other 5 - I should have written them down.

Anyone who thinks Palin has potential ...

Rajah's picture

Is out of their freaking mind!

This is a president for everyone not just black people

Yeah, I know alot of you are hoping he'll fail so one of your turkeys can get their grumby little hands on the White House.

Well, if he fails then we all fail

Americans seem to rise to the occasion in tough times

My parents faced the Depression then a world war

This is our test

Wishing for him to fuck up is just plain stupid

In order to unite this

Sassy_Cassie's picture

In order to unite this country we have have to stop hoping part of it fails. We need to do what needs to be done and I think that is exactly what Obama will do for this country.

Sarah Palin may be a right winged conservative nut job but she has a lot of unintelligent hicks behind her. Plus she is sneaky and sly. She may be as dumb as a rock but she is somebody we do need to be careful of

*~Cassie~*

I'm a real glad-bag for Obama.

RidingFool's picture

He will help America rejoin the world community, foster peace, end war, cure disease and eliminate hunger. Banks and business will no longer be in financial trouble. Automobiles will get better mileage. Gas will be cheap. There will be an abundance of charity and free love. People will smile more because their overall health will be better.

Unfortunately, the MSM asshats will talk everything Obama attempts down into the mud where they all have been for years, with Rush and Co. and FoxCo as their esteemed leaders.

If I see one more black on television that is "representative of the black community" commenting on what to expect from a "black" president, I shall write to each and every CEO of network television and ask for a refund on every advertised product that I have ever purchased.

That'll show 'em I care.

Waiting for Obama to fail

buzzerbill's picture

Dear rajah:

It's not a question of if he will fail.

It's a question of when.

And how badly.

You've already lost the argument

Rajah's picture

You mentioned Hitler twice

It remains to be seen what Obama will do. I'm tired of the pundits too. Obama is far from an empty suit. You wanna talk about empty suits and promises just look at the clowns that have been running this country. You fuckers have had your chance and you lost. Get over it already and stop being such spoiled sports. I've never seen such a big bunch of whiners in my life. We had to endue eight years of your Republican crap now it's our turn. Take a cue from McCain's concession speech, at least he was gracious enough to see they have to work together with our new presient.

Get ready for four years of wignuttia whining

RidingFool's picture

and crying and blubbering. Rush has started already. The mainstream media conglomerates, still contorting themselves over pictures of "black folk" in church assemblies waving their arms and singing, is too busy right now to pay attention to anything else. They'll catch on eventually.

Current change got you down? Worried? Concerned?

Don't be! With your shottie right next to your bed, you'll be ready and able to repel all boarders in seconds.

10 reasons I'm sorry that McCain lost

buzzerbill's picture

1.  Do we really need another wannabe Kennedy?  (although, to be fair, without that nasty accent.)

2.  Do we really need a president that keeps putting on and taking off identities faster than a quick change artist?  (Today, I'm MLK!  Oops!  I didn't hear a single sermon from Jeremiah Wright in 20 years!  Oh yes, I support the free market--that's why I studied with a Marxist at Harvard Law and my first job was a left-wing agitator--oops, scusi, mille regreti, a Community Organizer.)

3.  Do we really need a president who, one day, is saying that "we're not red states and blue states" and then hires the most vicious rabid pit bull enforcer from the Clinton administration as his chief of staff?

4.  Do we really need a president who has: never governed so much as a small town; who has no material legislative record; has, in fact, been nothing but a politico with good suits and better ghostwriters?

4.  Yup, I agree, he does make a fine speech.  So did Huey Long and Hitler.

5.  I see it now--hip hop evenings in the White House.

6.  I see it now--the White House is going to become the Rainbow House.  Lots of kente cloth in the Lincoln bedroom.

7.  No one will dare parody him on SNL.  Racist, you know.  Goodbye free speech, hello legislated speech codes.

8.  We haven't had a Presidential candidate, much less a President, since Henry Wallace who was a stalking horse for the United Socialist States of America.

9.  Do we need a president described as "an empty vessel into which we pour our hopes and dreams?"  It's called an empty suit.  We can recall a few empty vessels into which the people poured their hopes and dreams--Hitler for one.

10.  Finally: in a just world, age, experience, and character should trump youth (well, middle age), emptiness, and --well I can't see anything there that you would call character, rather a mysterious void.  What were the American people thinking?  Where did he get that Kool-Aid?

To reply to Will Smith, who I thought was a black actor...

TMundo's picture

I'd like to point out a few things concerning your list...

1.  Do we really need another wannabe Kennedy?  (although, to be fair, without that nasty accent.)

When did Obama say anything that either quoted Kennedy, or was exactly like what Kennedy wanted to doWhat exactly is wrong with wanting to be like Kennedy anyway, last I heard, the public loved him.

Like when Bush said, "We've never been stay the course."

3.  Do we really need a president who, one day, is saying that "we're not red states and blue states" and then hires the most vicious rabid pit bull enforcer from the Clinton administration as his chief of staff?

Not like Rove or Cheney?

4.  Do we really need a president who has: never governed so much as a small town; who has no material legislative record; has, in fact, been nothing but a politico with good suits and better ghostwriters?

I could have 20 years driving experience and still be a bad driver.  See president Bush Jr. for more reference.

4.  Yup, I agree, he does make a fine speech.  So did Huey Long and Hitler.

So did Roosevelt,  So did winston Churchill, what's your point?

5.  I see it now--hip hop evenings in the White House.

Ummm, no.

6.  I see it now--the White House is going to become the Rainbow House.  Lots of kente cloth in the Lincoln bedroom.

I don't really care what colors are used in the white house, especially the bedrooms, none of my business.  Were you planning on going on a tour and critiquing the interior decorating?

7.  No one will dare parody him on SNL.  Racist, you know.  Goodbye free speech, hello legislated speech codes.

He's already been parrodied on SNL more than a few times.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmtWrEo1_0g

8.  We haven't had a Presidential candidate, much less a President, since Henry Wallace who was a stalking horse for the United Socialist States of America.

There was already a socialist party on the ballot.  As quoted by the guy running on the ticket, "Obama is not a socialist"  And in case you didn't know, Socialism involves a lot more than distributing taxes.

9.  Do we need a president described as "an empty vessel into which we pour our hopes and dreams?"  It's called an empty suit.  We can recall a few empty vessels into which the people poured their hopes and dreams--Hitler for one.

I seriously doubt a person who attended Harvard law and afterwards instead of starting a law firm went back to community service, yeah, so empty.  Do you want to quote who said Obama was an empty vessel?

10.  Finally: in a just world, age, experience, and character should trump youth (well, middle age), emptiness, and --well I can't see anything there that you would call character, rather a mysterious void.  What were the American people thinking?  Where did he get that Kool-Aid?

Can you see a lot comming from Bush? World age experience and character that would trump youth?  How about McCain, who by his own admission has supported Bush 90% of the time

The american people were thinking they don't want 4 more years of the same failed policies.  If you are happy with the fact that we've spent billions in Iraq and haven't stopped terrorism because there were no terrorists in Iraq to begin with, (by Bush's own admission they had nothing to do with 9/11,) Than I guess you're right.   Apparently after Bush stated that Osama Bin Laden was responsible for 9/11, it was a great idea for us to forget persuing him, and go after Saddam instead.

P.S. I don't expect reasonable debate considering some of the things you've stated (4, 5, and 6 come to mind) but feel free.

Oh for God's sake.

RidingFool's picture

It's all Bill Clinton's fault.

RF,do they have a rack that fits on the toilet?

Rajah's picture

I don't wanna be caught unawares!

One big difference between Obama and Kennedy

Obama won by a wide margin

Kennedy barely squeaked by

Finally we have a president that can speak

Glad you noticed

'Mundo, up north

RidingFool's picture

we use the shottie to prop the outhouse door open. That lets the flies out for a breath of fresh air. Therefore, no rack necessary.

The trolls don't seem to have the gusto they use to

Rajah's picture

Has something taken the wind out of their sails?

I see Xie showed up briefly then departed

Wilson only posted a couple of times

Hey, we do need other view points!

*sigh*

Can't at least Slothy or skilly show up and tell us what a terrible place the new Crankyland is?

You can't debate in a vacuum or with vacuous trolls

Xie posted?

Oddball's picture

Where? I didn't think that he'd been on Cranky 2.0. I don't think Hamartoma has been on at all. What a dork. He really was too chickenshit.

Twelve days ago in Everything Else

Xie didn't say much

I wish more would cross over

This place is getting underpopulated!

I don't think Mia or Little Big Girl will comeback

TMundo, the shit would definitely hit the fan

The Secret Service better be on their toes

I wish it was my imagination but sadly it's real

People like these ruin this country

They need to stop breeding, I mean inbreeding

And I can't believe that law passed in California

Who gives a fuck if they marry?

Everybody is entitled to some happiness

Maybe Obama can change things but I'm afraid some people will never change

fortunately I wasn't raised in the gun culture and am still shocked when people talk this shit

Be glad you live in a blue state

Although I can't speak for myself...

...there is a point where you've got to learn that not everything your parent's taught you was true.  Not that some of it wasn't true and important, but if your parents hated blacks, and taught you the same, there's got to be a way.  Aside from my obvious religious base, which is not a direct product of my upbringing, there has to be a way for people to learn to question cetain ideals they've been taught.  Some of those ideals, they will find to be true, and good.  Others false.  People have to try to learn on their own, and see for themselves, and not just go by what their community, culture, or family thinks.  Again, not to go against everything they've been taught, just to question it, and maybe test it from time to time.  To me, racism doesn't require any testing, but I guess if you've been brought up tha way.

Here's another one, I knew a muslim guy that worked in a gas station near where I worked.  THe gas station was near to a small community of african americans.  Some of those african americans were ignorant folks that went to the gas station and picked up a nice old philly blunt cigar on a regular basis with which they would fill with weed.  Most of them dressed flamboyantly, hey, some of them may not have even lived in the nearby community.  My point is, as a result, the guy once asked me where there was some affordable housing, and I told him down the road.  He then said, "I don't want to live next to those black people, I don't like them."  I then thought to myself, the only ones he notices are the ones that buy the cigars and dress flamboyantly.

My point is that people don't notice the good in people, sometimes they choose to associate the bad.  Only the bad things stand out, people don't talk about good things, that doesn't make the news, that doesn't make TV.

Black people that are non-violent and live normal quiet lives don't get noticed.

And then of course there are some cultural differences that have developed as a result of whites ostricizing blacks.  How do you ostricize an entire culture, and then, (when as a result, that culture developes into something different than yours) how do you go and criticize that culture for acting different than your own culture?

Some parts of a culture should not be brought to America

Rajah's picture

Like the Honor Killings which are a part of the culture of the Middle East. Yes, we should tolerant other cultures but somethings should not be allowed. It puzzles me the prejustice some have for muslims yet they let their children die in a war defending muslims.

I'm pretty sure they were both on at one point.

TMundo's picture

.

I sent messages to all of the others to come over...

TMundo's picture

Mia said she'd drop by, nobody else wrote back.

William, don't

RidingFool's picture

let these people wear you down. In their heart of hearts they know that it's all Bill Clinton's fault.

To be honest, I have heard some reasonable debate outside...

TMundo's picture

...in the real world.  I just haven't heard the same thing here.  THe only thing I've heard here is the usual it's Clinton's fault stuff.  You know, ridiculous claims.  But I've heard a few things people have said that support Bush.

I wish I could say the same

Rajah's picture

The other day a "lady" asked me how long did I think Obama will last. I asked her what she meant by that. Of course I knew what she meant by that, the sicko!

You see around here, we wouldn't take it that way

TMundo's picture

...to me, someone says that and it's more like, how long before he just gives up and resigns due to the fact that the problem is too big.

In your area you take it a different way?  That's scary, but on the other hand it's got me and a few other dems worried.  Nobody seems to want to bring it up in actual words on the net, but we're all a little worried about it.

On the other hand, the way Bush cordially invited him into the white house says to me that his administraion has realized that the entire world truely hates them, and that maybe it's best to let things run smoothly, and not give the world more reasons to hate the administration.

Should something awful happen (like what you were talking about) a lot of people would be really pissed.  We're talking civil unrest.

You're sorry you couldn't think of ten?

Coaster's picture

Hell, I'm surprised you can count to ten.
