I seem to remember Paul stating something in the Bible about, "Luke the beloved physician," as in Mathew, Mark, 'Luke' & John, at least I think that's who he was referring to. (help me out here Jazz)
If doctors were bad, I don't think that he would have called him the beloved physician.
It depends on the context. Paul could have meant that Luke was "beloved" in the sense that he was a believer and hence "beloved of God."
Priest: In your family, do you pray before you eat?
Little Boy: We don't have to. Mom's a good cook.
