...from what I can translate from the russian (via word for word online translation) the idea was to convey meaning through sound and emotion and not through words. The performance originally featured subtiutles displaying the english wordsto the song but were removed during broadcast by the USSR as I suppose english may have been outlawed at the time. The song is about being happy to be going home. Yes, it's quite an old recording, but you can see that. It looks like something out of Rowin & Martin's Laugh-in if you ask me.
