Sure he'got typecast as a pretty-boy, but he's proved his worth as an actor.  I don't know him personally though, although a few folks in me town have bumped into him on several occasions.

In 1995 Ebert and Siskel reviewed it just after reviewing the Stuart Smalley movie, in which future senator Al Franken played for broad laughs much the same themes that Leo's movie played for big seriousness.  It was like seeing AIRPORT after seeing AIRPLANE!
