03/19/08: The word "responsibly" should be tacked onto the 2nd Amendment...

Too many idiots have guns... there should be an intelligence test first. Some sample questions would be:

"Do you know that you're not supposed to point the gun at anyone unless you really want to shoot them, not just to joke around with them?" (No = free "Retard on board" sign for your car.)

"Do you have any kids under the age of 18?" (Yes = starter pistol permit, nothing more lethal allowed.)

"Are you going to clean your gun in the dishwasher?" (Yes = free squirt gun.)

"What are you using this gun for?"
A) "Huntin'." (= Free bow and arrow.)
B) "Protection." (= Free baseball bat.) C) "Killun'." = (10 to 20 in state pen.) D) "Target Shooting." (= Free nerf gun.) E) "Cuz' gunz iz cool!" (= Free "I'm with stupid" shirt with arrow pointing up or down.

That should weed out only people that are actually responisble enough to have a gun, though they will still have to get an Associates Degree in Gun Safety before they have a 3 week background check waiting period performed. In the meantime I'll be working on my baseball bat technique.
