well, more than anything the movie's plot was limited by "the taming of the shrew." but i really feel like this movie fits into the same category as the numerous poor attempts at turning classical elizabethan drama into teen movies. teen movies are horrible. the screenplays seem like they're written by people too old to keep in touch with their youth. in fact, they all seem like they're written by the same person since they are so formulaic that it's hard to believe that any two could have been written by different people. in stiles' words, this "by definition sucks." you're right about the music, though.
