A few weeks after my wife and I got married, about a hundred years ago, she was waiting tables in a rural sea food restaurant outside of Patterson, Louisiana. A woman came in and ordered "Boiled Shrimp." My new bride submitted the order to the kitchen by writing the following oh her order pad:
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . "Bald Shrimp."
She was teased about that relentlessly for the rest of her tenure there.
I don't quite understand the teasing: Shrimp don't have hair.
Also, to many in the South, 'shrimp' is not the plural of 'shrimp', 'shrimps' is. (I hope that last sentence makes sense to somebody)
