I really shouldn't tell you this, but The Sacred Shush is different for each librarian. Personally, when I shush someone, I imagine each "sss" sound as a solid entity having razor-sharp edges and when they fly out of my mouth, they cut the offender into little pieces, particularly if it is a serial-yakker.
But that's just me. : )
