You scorn the movie for believing in God and in the same breath you scorn the movie for not believing, and then for eventually believing based on facts that Cranky deems impermissible. So we need Cranky's permission to believe anything. Unfortunately, he is as much a dimwit as the religious zealots he endeavors to lampoon. Poor, poor Mr. Cranky. Mourn his idiocy and the hypnotic trance it engenders upon his readers.
