I personally don't know what drives these types to deficate in Cranky's living room like that. They must truley be leading insignificant lives of quiet despiration. Just think of their posts as graffiti that will be hosed off in a few days.
Look around these forums. I believe, like most weeks, that there are some gems here.
I believe moderation would kill some of the free spirit that allows Crankyland to rise to the dizzying heights that it ocassionally achieves.
If you left, that would indeed be a sad day. Just maintain your conversation with the other adults. You may have to raise your voice occasionally to be heard, but sooner or later, the children will get bored and find some other place to play.
By the way, my wife is a nurse, too. If you weren't spending so much time here, you might have to talk to her, and she might fill you with the details of here work days, like mine occasionally does. Eeeeeeech!
