The governemnt has so much extra money now. Whenever government has extra money, they will always spend it on stupid crap like the war on drugs.
This is good reason to support a tax cut.
Here's what I mean. A few years ago, the budget for the I.R.S. was cut. And what happenend? The number of audits dropped.
So, if the overall level of govenrment funding was cut, then the number of people arrested for selling drugs would go down, just like the number of I.R.S. audits went down.
Cutting taxes would be a great way to reduce the number of people arrested for selling drugs.
About 3 years ago, Rolling Stone magazine had a cover story that said that the number of people arrested for marijuana charges was twice as high under Clinton as it was under Nixon. That doesn't surprise me at all. The Clinotn budget is so much higher than the Nixon budget. And a lot of that money is going to state ad local police to support the war on drugs.
But hey, I didn't vote for Clinton, so this isn't my fault.
Yeah, I know, Bush is the current President. But the government is still operating under the budget that was approved by Clinton last year.
When people are arrested for selling drugs *next* year - then it will be Bush's fault.
Before the election, Harry Browne said that if he was elected, on his very first day in office he would give an unconditional pardon to every person who was in jail on charges of making, selling, possessing, or using drugs.
But hey, I'm just a lying fuckwit who doesn't know anything. You guys are right. My Libertarian ideas suck. So it's a good thing that Bill Clinton spent 8 years building up the war on drugs. I think in the next election, I will vote for the Democrats because we need big government. After all, you voted for the Democrats, right, llamasex? So this big government thing sounds like a great idea. I will never vote Libertarian ever again. The Libertarian Party sucks. From now on, I am voting straight Democrat.
