We may produce more garbage than any other country, but we also have the lowest ratio of garbage/GNP.
Thus, it's actually easier for us to dispose of our garbage than it is for any other country.
Also, if you took all of the garebage that the U.S. is expected to produce over the next 100 years, and put it all in one landfill with a depth of 150 feet (typical landfill depth), the landfill would be a square that was only 9 miles on each side. This is an insignificant percentage of the land that we have.
We are not producing too much garbage. Our garbage production is not a problem in any way at all.
