I am against any toxic waste dump or landfill that causes pollution (including smell pollution) to harm anyone else's private property. This applies to all people, of all skin colors.
However, only abut 1% of the land in the U.S. is used for residential development. Therefore, there is plenty of room for landfills. I think that landfills should be located away from residential areas.
It is a legitimate function of govenrment to protect people and their property from pollution. This includes smell pollution.
A landfill, when properly built, and in the proper location, and properly managed, is not a threat to anyone.
And you still haven't answered my question: If my garbage is as valuable as you claim, then why don't I see any ads in the newspaper from anyone offering to give me money for it?
