After reading through a few of these posts on the forum, there is only one conclusion I can make. Nobody has any respect for the opinions of someone else on a movie such as 2001 - a movie that "intellectuals" seem to admire, and casual movie-goers seem to ignore. People see different things in movies, whether good or bad. The ultra- futuristic furniture may intrigue some viewers, while others will think that the use of futuristic elements in this kind of movie is "over the top".
Who really cares what other people think about this movie? If you liked it, then continue to like it. If you didn't like it, stop trying to convince other people to join you - you will not change their minds.
Would you really care if an anonymous person didn't have the same taste in music?
