The end was bigger then the speck he wrote about it. The was the ultimate show of cycles. The viewer was watching a "supposed" transformation of human evolution. The end was supposed to be a puch line. My favorite punch lines are those that reveal the truth to a select few, with the right kind of eyes to see what it is. The last phase of the movie was so the viewer was still captivated by a sense of awe and mystry . It was supposed to show a different view of time through the contact of aliens. I thought is was revolutionary for the time period.
