200 Cigarettes is an incredibly annoying film that tries so hard to be "hip" that it ends up being uninteresting. Basically the film is about a bunch of people on New Year's Eve in 1981 who are all connected to each other in some way. I lost patience with this film at around the 45 minute markl and stopped the tape; I didn't even get to see Janene Garafolo's appearence in the film (and I really like her). Perhaps I might try to get all the way through this film at another time to see if it gets any better, but for now I think of 200 Cigarettes as a film that simply didn't work for me.
