From Faux News:
The chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, Saul Anuzis, said he would circulate a petition among GOP national committee members seeking to bar Texas Rep. Ron Paul from future debates because of Paul's remarks about the Sept. 11 attacks.
Paul said those behind the 9/11 attacks had acted because "we've been over there" and the U.S. had bombed Iraq for 10 years. "I think Reagan was right. We don't understand the irrationality of Middle Eastern politics," he said.
"I think he would have felt much more comfortable on the stage with the Democrats in what he said last night, and I think that he is a distraction in the Republican primary and he does not represent the base and he does not represent the party," Anuzis said.
Jesse Benton, Paul's campaign spokesman, said Paul "is supporting the traditional GOP foreign policy."
"I think it's a shame when people try to silence the traditional conservative Republican standpoint," Benton said.
