Is, uh, there anything wrong with film school? I'm a film student myself and, to those who like to knock it, I dare you to compose a synthesis of the critical thoery of Roland Barthe, Noel Burch, and Robert Ebert.
Then, if you're not dead, write a shooting script for an essay film in the same vein as F FOR FAKE, using comparative film theory as your subject.

Closet critics, take a hike. The folks with actual TRAINING have work to do.
