and that's not the same as abusing you, escalators were indeed developed in Britain and their first major use was in the Underground railways or 'tubes' as the Brits so descriptively put it.
Now, while you may delight in a fast track to Hell, apparently Satan is having technical problems. He can't decide what system to use for the fiery accompaniment. Brimstone is OK but it leaves an aftersmell and lets face it this is going to be a frequent route. Plus it burns the handbaskets and a budget can only go so far. Stone statues are good but that would mean giving the credit to some Austrian. And who wants to give credit to an Austrian even if it is a Downhill.
