If you had passed reading comprehension in 3rd grade you would have realised that my diatribe was not a desperate plea for total free trade but a knock at a country which is hypocritical enough to demand that of others, even on spurious grounds ( Canada: durum wheat/ softwood lumber ) but then puts up tariffs to protect its own industries in defiance of their so-called committment to free trade. Your rationale for their doing so may indeed be correct but it smacks of one rule for the US and another for 'lesser nations.' A dangerous and arrogant presumption but one which seems to be in accord with the Bushites attitude to any world accords.
Presently I'm thinking of letting my basement to this muslim guy who seems to have acquired a most unusually large collection of curling rocks. ( Just to piss of the assembled multitudes.)
