Which is surprising b/c I usually see connections between films that others don't. Also, I'll admit that many critics have agreed with your position.
Here's what I see being the deal with "Intacto." you have von Sydow as the luckiest man alive, but his luck is somewhat of a curse. How did he first discover (get?) his luck? By grabbing the head of his best friend in a concentration camp & wishing that the storm troopers took his friend instead of him. The theory of the film is that what lucky people really do is absorb the luck of other people around them, making those other people extremely unlucky. von Sydow eventually loses his luck and is killed (mercifully?) when he gives Tomas a chance to go against him b/c he lost his wife like von Sydow lost those close to him.
In "The Cooler," Macy is more of a void, taking away the luck of others, but gaining none for himself. This finally changes when he meets "lady luck," and when their pure love overcomes all. It's also about new Vegas vs. old Vegas.
