02/19/04: Fan Edwards could win something

But then what? You don't need much experience to be vice president and preside over the Senate which Edwards is somewhat familiar with. But he was only a back bencher in the Senate. He passed no major legislation there. He doesn't know how to work the Senate or the rest of the government in Washington. This means that Washington will work him if he becomes Prez. Much like Jimmy Carter and Dumbya.

There are some very sharp cookies in DC. Plus a President who presides over 3 million federal employees -- plus millions more people who work indirectly for Washington -- must be able to delegate. So he has to rely on other people. But which people? Would Edwards know who to trust? I don't think so. Washington is a whole different ball game from anything else. Skills learned in life doing other things are not necessarily transferable to the wild world of DC.

Yes Edwards made himself. He won $25 million in legal fees that he pocketed by suing the medical profession. This seems excessive to me. Every time you pay your health insurance you are paying for some of that. So Edwards is not some knight in shinning armor from South Carolina to me.
