I don't see what is wrong with this. Many patients are the victims of serious malpractice by doctors. These people need & deserve representation. Edwards provided that to them. To uphold his duties as a lawyer, he had to sue for a high amount of $$. His skill led to many verdicts for high anounts of money. He did his job. He did it very well. He can't help it if this led to increased costs for consumers or if the veridicts were excessive.

The same goes for the lawyers defending the doctors/hospitals. They deserve representation. Lawyers represented them. It was their job to do this to the best of their ability.

So, you're right; Edwards is no knight in shining armor. But he's also no villain. Like most lawyers, he was just doing his job, and he just did it exceedingly well. Unless there is evidence that he ambulance chased or did slimey things at trial, I don't see why anyone should be pissed.
