To me, these 2 scenarios are fundamentally different:
1. Reporter -- Why do you think your players made derrogatory comments against her/harassed her/etc.? Well, she was a terrible, terrible footabll player.
-very bad when the player has just made allegations of rape against team members.
2. Reporter (in an interview about the allegations) -- How was the accuser as a player? Well, she was a terrible, terrible footabll player.
-as you say slightly insensitive based on the allegations, and probably better to offer a no comment...but nothing that warrants administrative action.
