You are absolutely right. Making fun of movies is almost as enjoyable as watching a great movie (of which there have been few lately).
Take 'Laker Girls' starring Tina Yothers for example. Every year, they show this dross on The Lifetime Network. It is truly a joke. At the same time, I am fascinated by this pathetic movie and watch it every year JUST to make fun of it. This concept is obviously what the creators of Mystery Science Theater 3000 had in mind.
