Although I was initially elated to discover that I had finally stomped Sir Critico, my enthusiasm quickly died down when I went to the "Virus" forum and discovered Mr. Cosgrove correctly answered questions 1 & 3, and considering he got #1, I'm rather stunned he didn't know #2, because they're actually closely related. But I will admit, #2 is probably the hardest of them all.
Because of Mr. Cosgrove's failure to answer #2, I will give Critico and all others another chance before I reveal the answer...
As for my own screenplays, I finished the first drafts of several (about 4 of them in '98), realized they were too long, hated them, and have been sitting on them while trying to come up with a reasonable way to pare them down. I am my worst editor, yet I generally refuse to let anyone else see my work until I'm satisfied with it.
Actually, I completed a third draft of a holdover from 1995 that I'm 90% satisfied with, to the point that I did something extremely rare and let some friends read it (they squealed about Tarantino's influence but claimed to be entertained nonetheless). Mainly I just have to do something about the beginning. And as soon as I have time I'll finish my simplest (and therefore easiest to sell) screenplay-- got about 90 pages done, should actually clock in under 2 hours. Shocking.
I'll keep you posted.
still stuck in that lousy day job,
The Creep, The Freak & The Loser
PS How about some Creep Trivia? I wasn't really planning on telling anyone in Crankyland this, but my alias is actually the title of one of my HIGHLY unfinished screenplays. I went cliche for once and named the 3 title characters for three of my favorite songs.
Anyone care to take a stab at the artists?
