This week's episode of Buffy, "The Zeppo", was very disappointing. It tried to focus on Xander, while downplaying the evil that Buffy was fighting. But instead of making it a minor evil, Joss & Co. decide to make it "the worst evil we've had to face". So why waste the show on not focusing on that? The downplayed importance of the event (the opening of the Hellmouth)was really detrimental to the show.
The Xander stuff was good, but again, not enough focus. They should have made one or the other of the storylines more important, rather than try to share equal time with both.
