I can see where that comes in... "Cop looks for answers to a crime that may not exist" type of thing. However, this really didn't have the shifting viewpoints of "Lone Star." Conversely, "Lone Star" didn't carry this film's bleakness and despairing tone.
I usually see a film every week or two weeks in the theater. And I rent three or four films every week. But, even if I haven't seen a film, I probably have read enough on it to fake my way through a conversation. :-)
