02/26/04: The point is still the same

"Schindler's List" only shows Germans who hated Jews (with a couple of exceptions).

"Passion of Christ" only shows Jews who hated Jesus (with a couple of exceptions).

Both movies conveniently ignored most of the millions of such people who did not share the opinion of those presented in the movies.

That's not to say I have a problem with that; I'm just pointing out that there were hardly any Germans getting pissy over their portrayal in "List." At least not that I'm aware of. At some point you'd think some Germans would be screaming, "Enough already! We know we did some bad things -- stop assaulting the population with movies on the topic!"

"The Pianist" did do a fairly good job of showing there were lots of Germans (Nazis and otherwise) sympathetic to the Jewish plight, although many of them were afraid to do anything with their sympathy.
