I also agree...and I might also add that it's a waste of time trying to instill logic into most people. They're too dumb to understand, even if they tried...that is, if they even listened in the first place.
BTW, no, you aren't reading too much into it. It's a far deeper movie than anyone of average intelligence can understand.
