Really now, you Spielberg haters, lighten up. Nobody, I mean no-body, saw the world like Stanley Kubrick, but he's dead. Spielberg, on the other hand, keeps seeing the world with hope, and fantasy, and goodness. O.K., this is Pinnoccio retold. That having been said, isn't this a really creative retelling of the old story of the little wooden boy who wants to be real? I was enchanted. Jude Law was awesome, and even Haley Joel Osmont, of whom I've seen a bit too much lately, was good. And the sets...WOW! That's whole celebration of humanness thing, firing the robots into destructive machines to thrill the rednecks, hey, if ever there was a great parody of Monster Truck Jams that is it. I own it on DVD. I can only say that about half a dozen other films.
