By the way, the black dude cut the belt because the Alien spit on him. Im guessing it was some sort of acid/toxin, made to incapacitate or kill. Did you notice how there were portions of his face missing were he got spit on? If it was as concentrated as alien blood, which ate a hole through a few decks in the Nostromo when they were playing with the face-hugger stuck on that one guy and they poked it or something.
