OK, this film did a pretty dang bad job on character development, which is something I have to have in a good movie. However, the visuals were frickin' incredible. Not the goopy alien crap, but the architecture and overall setting. It seemed like something out of a dream.
Not much on story or characters, though. A great setting can make a good film. Films like Fifth Element and Stealing Beauty didn't have the most incredible stories, but the setting is so amazing or beautiful, that it makes up for what is missing and transforms it into a good movie. Sometimes, you just want to watch something. That's what movies like these are for.
