A call came to the E.R,
"We're bringing in a dead man.
All vital signs have left him,
He's like a dime store mannequin."
But no one understood
The man on call that night.
His name was Dave,
A man so brave,
He didn't faint at blood sight.
Dave worked long and hard
To bring back the dead.
He had just one thought in mind,
Just one thing in his head.
"I'll give this slob another chance,
A chance to make amends."
Dave slit his chest,
And did his best,
But the corpse was too stiff to bend.
Oh! Somewhere there is just cause,
For trying to resuscitate,
A man whose brain has ceased to function,
A man whose body is inanimate.
But on that slab in the E.R that night,
A tomato face did attest,
It was MAYORBOB who fell silent to a cardiac arrest.
