This past Friday, no New York City newspaper had a review of DIRTY WORK, because there were no previews for critics. As we've all seen many times here in Crankyland, when the producers of a movie refuse to schedule previews for critics, it means that they know it's used food and want to sneak it in under the critics' radar in the hope of getting some box office on the first day. It doesn't work, however, because most newspapers now publish notices informing their readers that the producers refused to schedule a preview for critics, and hinting broadly that that refusal means that the movie in question stinks on ice.
