Good luck with the dentist! Hope he gives you the GOOD drugs!
Have some entertainment that doesn't require holding on to anything (ie no laptop, books, etc.) Bribe family members if necessary...Coaster's video suggestions are top notch.
Had all four wisdom teeth yanked about four years ago. I demanded the heaviest sedation they could give me. The first 48 hours post surgery where the worst. Between changing the Red Dwarf marathon from VHS to audiobooks, I pretty much lived in my bathroom (most drugs/sedation make me sick to my stomach).
Ended up with one rather large bruise on my right cheek from the one impacted tooth which faded quickly. But only after bookstore customers, the nice ladies behind the Ferraki counter at Saks 5th Avenue and fellow art lovers at the Metropolitian Museum gave me stared at the bruise, whispered at the bruise or whispered/slipped me info on battered womens shelters.
But the best thing was finally being able to swallow pills...no more crunching them up and hiding the smashed bits in chocolate pudding...
Coaster, BTW, one of my massage therapy classes was on the healing effects of laughter, complete with Norman Cousins as healing/laughter therapist visionary...how did you get a peek at my Massage Therapy 1 course manual? :)
