The U.S. is pefectly capable of manufacturing a VCR. But we are NOT capable of doing it at a lower cost than what the Japanese are doing it for. That's the only reason why we get our VCRs from Japan.
I realize I would have made my point better if I had picked some other kind of technological device. Well, if Cuba can't even make a desktop computer that works, then they can't be trusted to make a safe nuclear power plant.
