I was a kept woman for a year.
I got a job when I was fifteen, which I kept throughout high school and the first two years of college. When I was junior in college, I had to move to the university's main campus, which was further away, to finish my degree and had to give up the job. I'd never lived away from home at that point, so my grandparents said they'd pay all my expenses (within reason) for a year until I was comfortable living on my own, going to school full time, etc. So they did, and at the end of the year I got another job, which I kept until I finished grad school.
It's okay to hate me.
