I don't think Anglocentrism is the issue. The producers know that most people who attend movies want to listen to the dialogue and not read subtitles. Subtitles have been used effectively in THE RED VIOLIN and THE LONGEST DAY. Subtitles are like eating sugar with a spoon--after the first spoonful, the desire for more declines precipitously
