Good point- in fact, this is one reason why the actors in the 1979 miniseries "Holocaust" were instructed to just speak to each other as they normally would, because Germans don't "sound German" to one another. Otherwise, the show would have been taken less seriously, too, as many viewers would have seen the accents as analogous to those used in "Hogan's Heroes."
