Actually, the Russian nobility often learned French before they did Russian, so if they had spoken French, it would have been without any accent.

It does seem obnoxious that the filmmakers did not really try to make this movie feel Russian though. Russian do not even consider it a real Anna Karenina movie because it has none of the ambiance.
