Free speech is fine and dandy, but when it invades your home, your sanctuary, it has gone too far. Everyone has a right to say what they want in a public setting, but clearly, a person's home is not the public. Besides that, every venue should NOT be open to advertising.

I see telemarketing as being different from television (or radio) in that I can easily reject television or radio advertising by not turning on the tube, which is passive. Sure, I can slam down the phone when a telemarketer calls, but the act of answering the phone demands that I stop what I'm doing and pick up the phone. Not passive, but interactive. And therefore, an invasion...
