Heh heh heh -- all I could think of the whole time was that old OUTER LIMITS episode with Bruce Dern, THE ZANTI MISFITS.
Once I got over that, I enjoyed myself. I do computer graphcis for a living, so I have no patience with dull morons who refuse to give this incredibly painstaking animation process its due. I KNOW how much work it is to do good modeling and textures work, not to mention character animation. The movie did the job of a good animated movie: it made me forget I was watching an animated movie. The plot was no great shakes, but it certainly wasn't the daitribe against communism that the reviewer in my local "newspaper" claimed it was. I mean, really. Karl lost, give me a break. Fucking frustrated Republicans! Woody Allen was funny enough playing himself, as usual. The Danny Glover character was obviously an afterthought.
Wait for the Pixar release, kiddies! In the meantime, when this one becomes available on video I'll add it to my animation collection. All you cel-based purists can go pound sand.
