I also liked Billy Bragg's answer to that question- "It's good for business." User- The only thing in any of your posts that I believe is that you have been subjected to "overwhelming cruelty on a first hand basis." That would explain a lot. For anyone who doubts User's troll status, please observe his equally contrived, inflamnatory bullshit in the MEN IN BLACK FORUM. Actually, don't bother. Take my word for it- it sucks. I wouldn't mind having an intelligent conversation about the subject of draft dodging, if anyone's up for it. For some reason, Psycho Killer Casca say Lisa is a "moon faced moron", and seems to equate considering draft dodging with the view that "it's never right to get violent." I don't get that at all. Speaking as an individual, I have no doubt that I would bolt the country if the US got involved in a war that I felt, as an individual, was unjustified- even if the elected officials I had supported all disagreed. My main concern with the whole waging of war in the modern world is it all seems so blatantly done for economic reasons. Yet, we tell those who would go fight that they are doing it for love of country and freedom and democracy. I find that extremely disturbing. I know, there's a fine line between waging war to preserve business interests and waging war to maintain the quality of life we have come to expect. But I would have had a hard time picking up a gun on behalf of some Kuwaiti oil mogul.
