Coppola said "this movie is'nt about vietnam, It IS Vietnam" Having the flick start off w/ no credits, Just explosions of the jungle and jim morrison talkin about THE END is truly mind-drifting. Yeah I'll agree w/ those who say Brando sunk this film from true masterpiece recognition. It remains as 1 of my most favs. Reason why it dont rank w/ PLATOON in my book Is because 'pocalypse is more like a biblical epic. Platoon is more of a straight-foward, in your face flick that i also liked. Full metal jacket seemed Robotic to me..Just like any other Kubrick Flick..cept for Strangelove
