...I loved the Matrix and I'm not afraid to admit it. The only thing that turns my stomach about Matrix 2 & 3 is that I hope "they" don't think its success was based on Keanu Reeves' performance. Meaning, I hope they continue to have other characters heavily involved that can convey the "heavy" dialogue. (I can't stand Reeves.)
I have a question about "Lord of the Rings," though. I read the first few books when I was a kid and I enjoyed them, but you must admit that there is a very heavy geek factor at play. So heavy, in fact, that it may keep some people away. My question is does anyone think that this movie will be able to make back such a huge budget? I'm not saying that it doesn't deserve the money, I just wonder if it is capable of success with such a high price attached to it. I think that the general public can go for sci-fi, but I'm not sure how they will react to classic fantasy.
