What I think will happen is this: nobody will want to see "Fellowship of the Ring" save the people who know what it is. Word will spread, the hype will spread (tacking the newly lost footage from "Eyes Wide Shut" onto the end will serve that purpose), and people will go see the sequel; same will happen for the sequel, until it earns $500 mil on the third sequel. It'll make a killing on video, because every kid will want a copy. It's got the makings of a blockbuster film trilogy.
I, too, am looking forward to "The Matrix" sequels, but with a little apprehension; I'm not sure they can re-create the kinetic energy and awesome combat scenes that made "The Matrix" what it was. Also, there will never be a better soundtrack.
