From what I have heard the Lord of the Rings movie is going to be done as a trilogy- each of the books not two movies. Probably the best way of doing it. Somehow $63 Million, on each movie doesn't really sound like to much, the books were pretty epic and you cannot rely on CGI alone. Apparently the character Gollum is going to be 100% computer animated, hopefully he'll work better than Jar-Jar Binks. Hopefully they'll stick fairly closely to the books and not change things to appeal to the audience, which could royally screw things up and most likely make it lose apopeal to anyone. It has the potential to be a great series of movies, if they get it right. Its gotta' better than that crappy animated one they made in the seventies.
As for the Matrix sequels, the ending of the Matrix was pretty open ended, even if I can't see what they could really do in the next two to keep things going, so I'm willing to give it a chance. Hopefully they will be part of a pre-planned story rather than just being made because the first one made lots of money. Pity about Keanu Reeves being involved at all.
