Ok, I agree with you on Seabiscuit -- 79% fresh, 89% cream of the crop, 7.5/10 average, 7.7/10 cream of the crop. These #s are only "warm" & place the film slightly below the averages of the films nominated for BP in the last few years.
But, "M & C"? 85% fresh, 92% cream of the crop, 7.9/10 average, 8.3/10 cream of the crop. These #s place Weir's film solidly in the upper half of the films nominated for BP in the past few years in terms of critical reception. The box office #s will hurt, but I would say that the critical consensus on it is hot, especially compared with other Oscar contenders (off the top of my head, I would say it is only behind "Nemo" & "Mystic River" so far).
